After writing several short stories, my first adventure saga, THE AMBASSADOR is completed. In the year 1865 in Spain, newlyweds Antonio and Maria Alvarez inherit a ranch and hacienda in Mexico. En route to Mexico, they are attacked by Moorish pirates and battered by a storm. They arrive in Mexico only to face more problems and violent attacks. Antonio becomes wealthy and serves as Mexico's Ambassador to the United States.

Excerpt from THE AMBASSADOR:

Antonio heard the Spanish cannons roar. Two heavy balls struck the pirate boat at the water line. When it began to sink, the pirates dove into the water, trying to reach their other boats. One of them screamed as he rose from the foaming sea clamped between great jaws. He disappeared into the blood-reddened waters.

"These are shark waters," a Spanish seaman  told Antonio. The blood attracted more predators and one by one, the pirates were dragged screaming into the depths.

As the pirates and Spaniards exchanged musket fire, Antonio saw a ball pass through the eye of a Spanish Marine. Picking up the fallen man's musket, Antonio took aim and fired at a pirate who was shouting orders.

The Marine Sergeant nodded in approval when the pirate leader fell.

The remaining pirate boats continued to close and two used grappling hooks to pull the boats together. Boarding parties from both boats jumped to the deck of the Spanish ship.

Antonio shot two pirates and then drew his saber, rallying the Spanish sailors, who wielded heavy clubs, while others fought with cutlasses.

Antonio battled with one thought in his mind, I've got to stop these murderous swine before they get to Maria.
